Get rid of green dust algae in aquarium
So as I suspected, this does not get rid of the dust algae on the glass, but that being said, on the side of the tank that experiences the heaviest water flow from the filter the dust algae appears to have a difficult time reattaching after I wipe it off the glass. So it seems that water flow rather than the UV light helps with this problem.

I've thought about this but ruled it out because the dust algae is adhered to the tank glass and the water itself is otherwise perfectly clear. In this case will the UV filter be useful?

@Diether yeah I got some phosphate and nitrate to try this dosing now.

@Diether I have enough CO2 injected to keep the pH at about 6.8 and yeah while I do dose with flourish I have yet to try dosing with phosphorus as well, which I have heard can help. Maybe I could try that.

@Rémi Yeah the plants grow well, but I monitor the water weekly and have tried weekly substantial water changes. And still nothing works.

Identify algae in aquarium
And it is very difficult to scrape off leaves with my fingernail.

There doesn't appear to be anything growing on the substrate. I haven't vacuumed the substrate or anything. It just seems to grow on plant leaves/rocks/some plastic.

I'm not really sure, when I scrape some off with my fingernail, it doesn't smell great, but its not horribly offensive. The tank as a whole smells nice and fresh though.

Thanks for the answer, but I don't think it is brown algae/diatoms, I already had that grow out and regress, and this is of a really deep green color as you can see in the first picture. Also unlike brown algae I cannot just wipe this off the leaves with my finger.
