I have a one year old cat and he's very fearful. Unfortunately, he is scared of a lot of things, but he was normally playful as can be. However, one day my Nephew was chasing him around the house with a string-less balloon and he only did it because he thought is was funny and harmless, but now my cat is very scared and he keeps clutching its legs and arms together and staying in safe places, like where he feels comfortable: like under my arm, under blankets or pillows, in boxes.

I'm very scared that my nephew traumatized him for life and I just don't know what to do. He's only been doing this for like 1-1/2 hours, but I don't know if it's going to wear off or what - but can somebody help me?
