My elderly cat has been having some teeth trouble, which may be related to what is going on. She eats only wet food, and after eating she will groom herself as normal. However, it seems that she still has food in her mouth when she starts grooming, because she only makes her fur dirtier. Is this because of her bad teeth? Aside from fixing the tooth problem (it will be a while before she can have surgery) is there anything I can do to discourage this?
