We are moving to the US from France. I'm not comfortable using a pet relocation service. Are there any airlines that allow rabbits as carry on in cabin? The flight is about 6-7 hrs. They're 2 well binded rabbits that can comfort each other. The longest they've been in a cage is 3 hrs at a stretch.

Unfortunately, the list of airlines that allow rabbits to fly in the cabin with their owners is always changing. Currently The following airlines allow rabbits to fly in the cabin for a fee:

  • Air North
  • Alaska Airlines
  • Avelo Airlines
  • Corsair
  • Finnair (Only in Europe)
  • Frontier
  • ITA
  • La Compagnie (Only one rabbit per passenger, and there is a size limit)
  • Pacific Coastal Airlines
  • Spirit Airlines

United Airlines has gone back and forth on this in the past, but it looks like they currently allow up to two pets per person (including rabbits). If you are bringing two pets, they require two seats to be purchased, and they have restrictions on what countries you can and can't go to.

Even if an airline says they allow rabbits in the cabin, I would call to make sure what their specific rules are. I've had friends relocate in the past and have been in tricky situations because they found out at the airport that while the airline allowed rabbits on some flights, they didn't to their destination. I've also had friends who found out at the airport that while both of their rabbits could fly in the cabin, they had to be in separate carriers, which added some stress to their trip.
