Feb 7, 2014 at 19:27 comment added Bobson @EsaPaulasto - I don't have any experience in trying this, but based on non-deaf cats I've had, you can try snapping near each ear on a few different occasions. If the ear flinches back, the cat hears through it (although a lack of flinching doesn't demonstrate deafness). Don't overdo it, though - I'm sure it greatly annoys the cats.
